The boy and girl were in college. the boy wanders into a hotel (maybe looking for a job) where he sees the girl working there - I think in the front office. They become friendly. Turns out, girl's father owns that hotel (and many others) and he thinks she's out of his league.
I don't remember much else - I'm not sure whether the boy got the girl.
I realize that's not much to go on, but I've seen people come up with titles and authors with even less.
