What I vaguely remember is a male MC along with several female friends start a business either during college or shortly afterward. I think the business revolved around computers and perhaps modeling. Another group sought to block the business interest.

While rereading the Defense Man series of stories its plot reminded me of the above story...but I am unable to stir up enough gray cells to offer more clues.

Check SmokinDriver, his Nick series is about a kid that starts a computer software company before the personal PC came out, he also takes pictures as a plot point

Daze in the Valley also had those elements, though the MC and half the female cast were porn stars.

I believe there was one took place in GB and involved I believe High School aged children (1 male 2 girls and I believe a Teacher) and dealt with Inventory/Databases.

is set at Cambridge, gets involved with 2 teenage girls. Sets up first inventory program with help from partner in the states
