Hi all,

I just finished re-reading the white tiger stories by anthill mob. During the reading I got flashbacks to an other story also including martial arts. In this story the mc had to travel to Japan to test for a higher grade. Could have been a do over but I'm not sure. Also in the flashback some negotiations with japanese businesses (Panasonic pops up in my mind white typing this post) about new products. I have no clue if it is the same story or that my mind is mixing things up.
Any hint which story/stories this could be?

Probably as there is also the Electronics negotiation along with lots of yakuza interactions. Take your pick as there is the original and a revised version of the story. The new Laws where Ernest lived were such he couldn't even legally download his own stories to modify them.

I think this is the main part of my recollection, the rest is probably cobbled together from many different stories. Strange how the human mind remembers small pieces of stories and builds a complete new story

You have an opportunity to add your own personal perspective to the mixture and create a new story the readers here would probably enjoy reading.

Yes The Al Adams series has both the testing and business dealing with Japanese businesses, not sure if it was Panasonic or not.

Travelling to Japam to test for a higher grade could be one of the AWLL stories by Michael Loucks.

Negotiating with Japanese about new products could be Nick Book II by Smokin Driver, although I don't recall Panasonic.

Oh, if it's one I'm thinking of, MC also had dealings with Yakuza. However, can't remember the name.

While "Finding Home" satisfies most of your recollections, there are other stories where the MC deals with Yakuza but does not travel to Japan for martial arts testing.

The two that comes to mind are State of Chaos by EzzyB where the MC negotiates directly with a high level Yakuza on his boat, and later stories of The Defenseman - the 3rd installment I think - Dman3 by Cold Creek, where he comes in direct conflict/battles with the Yakuza.
