Ernest Bywater has passed 07/16/2022

I noticed that Ernest Bywater has been a great resource here in this 'Lost Stories' forum, contributing as late as 27 June. Today, his son posted on his blog that this generous author and SoL Friend has passed beyond in his Australian home at age 67. I know I speak for many that he will be missed!

He will be missed.

I am a few months older than Ernest, so this is making me feel the approach of my own mortality. Luckily I am in good health except for a few pounds overweight (about 50, that's a few, right?) and easily controlled diabetes. I'd like to see my grandkids grow up. They range from 5 to teens.

I blame the Australian government for it.
I wish he could have been here to see his life returned to normal. RIP ERNEST ๐Ÿ˜”

If you look at one of the other threads (https://storiesonline.net/d/s2/t10138/ernest-bywater) you will see that the Oz government were not the proximate cause of his death, and I believe the current Oz government were the opposition when he had his legal problems. I may well be wrong on the second one.
What shocked me was that one day he was fine - and posting in the Forum - then he drove himself to hospital, and then it was all over 3-4 days later. I knew someone else who went like that but he was in his mid 80's.

The ones at the top may have changed but the bureaucrats he had to deal with day to day were the same.

It would have been nice to see him live long enough to get justice. On the other hand that would probably require immortality.

Hey, Al here

The Oz government weren't the direct cause for this week, it was certain NSW Police branches after a previous government quietly changed the laws, that certainly gave dad & I undue stress over 2015-2019.

I personally put most of the blame on dad's poor health on the doctor that back in 2004 put dad on certain meds to treat Type 2 Diabetes - which dad never had any signs of when he was examined prior to passing - because he probably had something more benign that had similar signs as Type 2 but wasn't Type 2.
Dad was in fine health up to that point being 49/50 at the time (I was 16), but after that doctor came to the conclusion it was Type 2; dad's health started going downhill from there.

I'm here in the states and my mom just had I mild heart attack. She was on dialysis at the time. They sent her to the er got her stable and gave her meds to sleep. While she was out cold they transferred her to a new hospital and when she woke up confused about where she was they diagnosed her has having a stroke. Plus as she was still loopy from the drugs she could not answer the questions they were asking about next of kin among other things.after the drugs were out of her system suprise surprise she did not have a stroke it was just the drugs.

The Australian government is that corrupt now that people are slowly waking up but it's too late as even the courts have been corrupted also. I play round in the courts myself. My latest find is that the government have revoked all title deeds, title deeds are now invalid there was a court case in the Supreme court in Cairns challenging the government's right to revoke the title deeds it was being challenged by an ex senator Len Harris

He was a great author, mentor, inspiration, and friend to many. My sympathies go out to Al and all his close friends.

I hope someone gets access to his pending files and can resurrect some new works. He brought many old works by others, so I hope someone does the same for his "babies." If so, I hope someone posts a new blog entry on his site directing us all to the links.
