I was reading a story about a month or two ago, the author was posting weekly took a break now i can't find the story at all
I believe the title is either runesword or rune sword
MC is an orphan adopted by a small town blacksmith
MC can unintentionally cast magic into metal which is supposed to be impossible in that universe
Big battle at the end of book 1 and book 2 is them escorting a princess home
You can't find it because the title has a deliberate misspelling. Or maybe it's supposed to be runes ward rather than rune sword.

It is currently on hiatus because
- work sent him on a trip somewhere
- he caught Covid while on that trip, badly
- while he was away his PC (or Mac?) died a horrible death.
I blame the Church of Tyln myself.
He always posted his chapters on Saturdays, so maybe - just maybe - another one or three are coming today.
According to a recent blog post (made by phone) he is still waiting on parts for his computer.
