Forum: Lost Stories

far future fembot

This link seems to indicate that there are heaps of stories: https://storiesonline.net/files/dbstory/fembotMap.htm

I can only find two premier stories. Does anyone else know where I can find the others please?

All of that authors stories are premier.

However, at least two more stories listed in the map are on his story list but not in his fembot universe.

Most of those authors stories were pulled for publishing, and the authors personal site at the time the stories were pulled appears to no longer be online.

Wayback Machine?
I did not have that site on my radar and have no idea whether anything helpful was there.

asstr.org/~db_story has no content except a redirect to
home.att.net/~DB_Story archive.org has copies from 2001 to 2010 But DB_Story removed the content in 2007.

The last version with content in the wayback machine is dated 2007-06-30

I think he posted to SOL from 2003 to 2010 a total of 79 stories.

There where 29 books (Some collections of short stories) for purchase on Smashwords until may 2017.

My best bet would be a DMCA take down from Asimov estate.

DB_Story referred to Asimov's laws of robotics in a few of his short stories and there is documented illegal abuse of DMCA notice by the Asimov estate in 2017.

That is why when I wrote a story that came close to the writings of Doctor Asimov, I became very circumspect. I discussed the "Three Laws", and implied what they were but never actually said them. And I included a "Doctor Calvin", but never said she was Susan Calvin from his stories.

Of course, they were also much more homages to him and his style, and not intended to actually fall into his "Robot Universe". And I actually do things like that quite regularly, but rarely make it so overt that anybody who is not a big fan of the original source would ever realize what I had done.

@hst666

Weird... indeed they disappeared... I wonder what's going on there...

It seems it is high time to figure out how to export my Kindle ebooks to some other format and save them in a safe place...
