I am looking for a story where the MC strives to get away from it all for awhile and goes to a remote cabin. The cabin has a gate/portal to a medeival style world. He becomes a hunter/ranger hunting dangerous animals in the woods to protect travellers. He learns of a plot to kidnap or murder a young lady of the royal house and he attempts to stop it. He eventually travels with her and her escorts as part of her protectors.
Probably 'Blood and Iron' by Warlord. Unfortunately not complete, with no ETA in sight.
I loved it and have been waiting for years to see the end of it.

That can be the least amount of problems those type of health issues can cause. Its possible they have had a greater affect since then as well. Oh well I have enjoyed his stories in the past and will continue doing so including his unfinished ones.

Wasn't there discussion about possibility of FantasyLover finishing this, like he did Scout?
The one I'd like to see finished is Wild West. I re-read it every 2-3 years and each time I'm more struck that it's 360k of introduction. It's just setting the back story, introducing and gathering all the characters, and building anticipation. It seems as if the next chapter would be Mourning Dove's back story as another time traveller and then the next would introduce the conflict. Does anyone have a clue as to where he intended it to go? I'd love to see it finished.
