Writers getting involved in their stories?

Capt. Zapp ๐Ÿšซ

It appears some writers really get into their stories. Every now and then the title/artist comes across as that anyway. The one that showed up today on the "Random story from the archives" is:

"How Ronny Throckmorton Was Saved From The Indians by Lubrican"

Anyone else find interesting coincidental combinations like this?

@Capt. Zapp

This is kind of like those old book title jokes, such as:

Into the Dark Cave by Hugo Furst

The Yellow River by I.P.Daily

I wonder if there are a lot of stories like this where Lubrican's hero isn't named Bob?

You made a comment on an thread where puns are being thrown around without making a pun of your own!

Who are you and what have you done with the real richardschagrin?

A point to punder. Am I richards chagrin?

A couple more in the current feed.

"A Question Posed by Wayne Gibbous"
So, what's the question and does anyone have an answer?

"Carrying the Flag by peregrinf"
What does it matter that someone carried a flag past him?

Why? Why not.

Those instances of author interjection always disturb me

I don't think he's referring to author interjections, but cases where the title + byline makes an interesting combination.

The specific example is the story "How Ronny Throckmorton Was Saved From The Indians"
Author: Lubrican

So when you put the story and byline together, you get: "How Ronny Throckmorton Was Saved From The Indians by Lubrican"

Not sure that has anything at all to do with your questions...

Not really. I was humored by how the title showed up on the feed. The way it displayed it looked like Lubrican was the one who rescued Ronny Throckmorton.

Duh! I completely missed that, thinking it was an intentional reference to another author's reference.

Please, ignore my previous rant. It only interferes with a good chuckle.

Same here, and I was just about to hunt it up. I liked Lubrican's story and looked forward to a parody.

Hint: I'll bet Robert wouldn't object to such a parody. He'd probably laugh right along with you.
