Hi all, long time member, just discovered the forum.
I've been struggling through the second quarter of Michael R. Thomas by Richard the 3rd. The story had this long build-up towards a harem situation, and for the past 10 or so chapters I've read it seems the author is intent on dismantling that and focusing on the MC's relationship with a pre-teen, along with a near disappearance of sex content.
This goes together with inconsistencies in plot and character building, and story elements/characters that are set up then not used. (I'm gonna stop there because this is turning into too negative a rant)
I mostly read these stories as indulgent fantasies, and the codes plus earlier parts tell me this still has potential. Does it get back on that previous, raunchier track later or should I give up ? I am not bothered by swinging and the like, so it doesn't have to be a MC-centric harem.
On another note, is 2Ber Hero's The Catalyst worth reading ? I was turned off by the prologue, since to me it broadcasted that "all the characters you're about to become invested in will die or leave the story", which is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to primarily "fun reads" like erotica. It could be handled very well for all I know, but I've been burned by tone whiplash and stories going off the deep end before. Skimming through the dates at the beginning of chapters didn't reassure me either.
