I started reading the EO series from the first volume, EO1, and now that I look back I see that her story scores continue to increase with each volume, and the downloads have increased steadily as well. Volume 9 has about twice as many downloads as Volume 1. Not surprising - this is a great series.
Treat yourself! Go back and read the whole series starting with Volume 1! You'll be glad you did!

Most series seem to have increasing scores in later volumes. I wonder if it's more experience by the author or just the fact that the only readers who start later volumes (and this rate them) are those who enjoyed earlier volumes.
In any case, EO is a very good read! Enjoy!
it's a proven statistic. For long-running series (either TV, games, or books) the scoring will be better for the last entries than the first.
But this is more likely in niche franchises. big publications have more blind buyers through marketing or word of mouth who don't like what they are consuming.
But niche artists have their loyal followers, like spiderweb software, who makes oldschool isometric RPG's for decades with just a man and his wife. All the games are above 90% user rating from a tiny part of the gaming community.

That's probably because of the way SOL count downloads. Example; I download/read volume 1 as a whole story, that counts as 1 download. I then read/download volume 9 as it's being posted, that's 1 download per chapter (per day).
