Happy Belated Birthday SOL!

Riceeyes ๐Ÿšซ

Sticking my neck out here a little making an assumption. Also, I didn't know the proper place to put this. And I didn't see a mention of this anywhere.

I was just searching around to see what the oldest stories were and it seems that SOL started on 7/1/1999.
So on 7/1/2019 it is 20 years old?

If so, thanks Laz and all the authors that have caused me to spend too much time here. Way back when I have a vague memory reading stories on the newsgroups. Then SOL came along.

I have been either easily entertained or there are some really great authors here. Probably a combination.

Any Happy belated 20th birthday to SOL and thanks to everyone for the entertainment. Amazing that is has been around this long.

The SOL domain was registred on 1999-04-12 but there was already a Precursor running on a naked ip (206.47.27.105) called Lazeez's Erotic Corner.
The website counter claimed to have started on septembre 1998.

The First Public notice to asstr newsgroup was 1999-10-14

Updated:

I started having a website in late 1996 (stories and pictures on a naked IP address.)

I focused on stories in 1998, registered 'storiesonline.net' in 1999.

Moved to a database system using FileMaker Pro (too many stories to keep everything manually managed) in July 1999 (hence the first entry in the database). It took roughly 4 months to enter all the stories in the database.

Moved from FileMaker in 2001 to Linux/PHP/Mysql to enable logging in and controlling the rampant vote manipulation at the time.

Started premier service in October 2001.

2004 moved away from framesets to the current layout system.

Where has the time gone?

Sigh...

Where has the time gone?

The same place time always goes. Into the past.

Which of us doesn't wish we could turn it back and do over?

Ok, maybe a few years late on the 20th birthday.

Let me say, Lazeez, that you have done an absolutely fantastic job - we are all seriously in your debt. Thank you for all your hard work.
