Money Well Spent - PSA

In Money Well Spent, on this site, Chapter 3, it says, "Surprisingly there were a lot of vets at the station, and they all rallied behind us. We even did a PSA together showing us in uniform ..."
What is a PSA?
The "vets" in the story are veterans, not veterinarians. Other characters are TV reporters, TV cameramen, with references to websites and YouTube.
I tried to look up PSA on the Internet, but the only reference I found was to a blood test for prostate, which makes little sense in this context. I found nothing referring to veterans or the military, or TV reporters, cameramen or websites or YouTube.

A couple of thing to consider:

1) The post you resurrected from the dead is nine months old
2) Not everyone (even here in the good-old USA) is American or was raised with English as a primary language.

Well damn, son. I guess people can't immigrate to the US anymore. Everyone who is here, and everyone with a username that tells folks where they live in the US, was sure-enough born here.

OK, amend my comment to include Maryland with Virginia and West Virginia in that list of states. And note the list also includes the District of Columbia aka DC, which is the capital of the United States of America but not a state. If it the United States, is DC part of the United States of America? I guess it is like a territory or possibly a possession of the USA but not actually a state. Just a state of mind.
