I like everything I've read of Shaddoth's, but IMO Biomancer seems to incorporate an interesting change of style, reminiscent of ElSol. A very impressive start.

Overall it's a very good story. Thank you for sharing it with us.
My personal preference would have been for a more drawn-out ending, covering the escape in more detail, as I believe you considered but rejected.
