Help me flesh out my list of stories with hidden swinging/sharing

Swinging and sharing elements in stories are the bane of my existence. Those two (and cuckold) are the only tags that I always filter out when searching for new stories, without exception.

Lately I've had some real bad luck and it feels like every other story I've read have ambushed the reader with either swinging or sharing elements, while they aren't tagged as such.

So I've decided to make a list of stories that have untagged swinging/sharing to save others with similar tastes as me some time. I know that alot of people doesn't make a big deal of swinging/sharing, but I hope that you will still help me build on my list for those of us that really dislike it. I will start off with the stories that I remember the names of, and I will edit this post and add to it as I remember more of them.

These are the ones that I remember right now, I will add more as I read more stories, and remember older ones I've read. Hopefully I've helped some avoid stories you wouldn't like with my list, and I hope that people will help me add onto it!

I ran into one recently, "Playing in the Woods" by Imaginator, where after getting frisky with his little sister, the MC suddenly decides to 'give' his sister to his best buddy (when all she'd asked was to watch him and his friend beat off). That one twist ruined the entire story, and I never read another word beyond that plot twist. (Granted, it was never a tremendous story before that, but that just kicked me in the teeth for no apparent reason.)

I should have rated it a 2, but instead I simply ignored the story altogether.

So your list of tags to watch out for might want to be adjusted to include those.

I suspect he's looking for stories that are mislabeled, so he wouldn't be offended by those, he simply wouldn't read them. Here, he's complaining that they don't include the (rom, cheat) codes.

So your list of tags to watch out for might want to be adjusted to include those.

Feel free to list them anyway if there's swinging/sharing in the story but no tag, even if it's tagged with mult or orgy. Mult, group sex and orgy is kind of vague in the sense that you don't know who is participating.

If a guy and his harem have sex with each other, it's all mult, group sex and orgy, technically, the same tags applies if the guy invites a couple of his friends aswell, even if I think that you could add the sharing tag to the second example since the guy is sharing his harem with others.

So if the stories that came to your mind are somewhat like the second example where swapping or sharing elements are present even if the author isn't wrong with just having a mult tag and not specifying who's included in 'mult', feel free to list them here even if it's just sharing-ish or swinging-ish and not straight up swinging.

I didn't make this thread to be about criticizing authors of how they handle their tags, nor for discussing what exactly should go under what tag, I just wanted to make a list of stories that people who do not like stories that veers off in that direction could know to avoid, so if you find yourself thinking "Hey I don't think someone who dislikes other guys being with his love interest would enjoy reading this story", please type it down so that I and others can skip it.

Mult, group sex and orgy is kind of vague in the sense that you don't know who is participating.

Generally speaking, ALL of those tags say that SOMEBODY is being shared. Best if you avoid them all.

Sure that's true, but unfortunately I have a fondness for harem stories. Yes, that means that the guy is being shared by women, but I feel that it's what the harem tag means, so it would feel redundant to have both Harem and Sharing. I do tend to avoid the orgy tag if it isn't a harem or polygamy story though.

Maybe I should edit my original post to "Other guys having sex with the protagonists love interests are the bane of my existence", since that's what it comes down to really.

Just for clarification, I had a very short one-time encounter in one book, where two characters who were clearly fated for each other had qualms, and so initiated a 'social experiment' where they swapped partners to see whether it made any difference. Would you consider that a 'swinging', 'sharing' or 'cheating'. For me, that's part of the driving argument for the series (my "Not-Quite Human" stories), so it's less about the actual physical act and more about how it informs the characters of who they are and what's driving them forwards. As such, it ceases to be about the sex act involves and forms the basis for their actions going forward. (By the way, I involved the scene (heavily redacted, of course) in the no-sex FS version of the story, where there is no 'cheating' or 'swinging' codes.

By the way, I did code that story with the 'orgy' tag for that one scene, instead of either 'sharing' or 'swapping', just as a warning to readers.

As someone with the same squick as OP I'd say that yes, I would consider that 'sharing' and would not read the story.

In my story, The Consequences and Rewards of Playing Hooky, there is nothing that I consider sharing or swinging. At the start of the story, two of the "main character's girls" are dating others. There is no sexual contact between these women and their current boyfriends. At the end, one girl reconciles with her original bf (which is pretty heavily foreshadowed).

From that standpoint, I don't see how the "sharing" or "swinging" tags would be appropriate. Just the guy doesn't get that (particular) girl. Yet this story might squick you if you want all of your MCs to get all of the girls.

I'm not quite sure, but I would add my entire Better Than the JackPot Series. While outright swapping is avoided, necking and heavy petting is described. So better safe than sorry.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who hates sharing/swinging tags. SOL is full of cheating/swinging/cuckold stories but when you find sharing stuff where you would have never expected it is pretty awful. And thanks for the list I had "I feel lucky" bookmarked and I thought it would be a good one
