OSL series by bluedragon

Elawn ๐Ÿšซ

Hey, so I find myself in a sort of dilemma here.
I've been wanting to read this series for the longest time, but the cheating tag present in all the books is putting me off, so can anyone clarify for me? Is the MC the one that does the cheating? I know it's a coming of age story and that the MC might make mistakes, but come on the tag is literally plastered on EVERY book! Doesn't he grow up?

Please enlighten me.

Its not really the MC that cheats, from what i remember its the girls who generally cheat on the MC in the OSL series, one character in particular will make you rage. The MC is also pretty scummy as he proposes to a girl just so he can calm her down after sleeping with the girl who cheated on him.

I honestly stopped reading it at that point. AWLL is a much better series so check that out if you haven't.

So the MC basically gets NTR'd all the time? Ugh, not sure I like that either...
Yeah I definitely need to pick AWLL back up, I stopped reading near the end of the first book, though I can't remember why.

Sigh, I heard a lot of people praising bluedragon's work, so I wanted to give it a go. But if you tell me the MC is scummy... That's a major no-no in my book too.

Oh well, guess not all MC's can be as awesome as Stupid Boy's David.

@Elawn

OSL started off really well but as the books went on it got worse and worse with the drama. childhood friend cheats on him twice and there is this model girl that leaves him for another girl after he proposes to her.

Honestly i used to like the MC of OSL but that was until he proposed to the model just right after sleeping with the childhood friend who cheated on him.

TLDR: The entire cast is scummy and if your not used to reading cheating/swinging novels like summer camp you should pass on this one.

Dully noted, thanks a bunch, you saved me a lot of time.

I also dropped OSL. I got uncomfortable with the drugparty plot. That was the start of the problems. Really, everything since collage is one dent after another.
You have to read a dozen little sidestories to know the motivations of all the characters.
And the big finishing move was the fake happy ending dream.

And I am soooo done with the *childhood-friend-that-we-are-destined-together-but-you-have-to-get-your-stud-phase-out-of-the-way-so-I-can't-date-you-at-the-moment* trope.

LOL good luck with that, SOL writers love this trope.

I know, it was minor in awll but I wasn't exposed to this a great deal before that.

Until OSL and Stupid Boy... Damn, does it get stale real fast. Stupid Boy is the master of this trope. I am currently on hold at the end of sophomore year and wait for the rest before continuing.

@ChiMi

It definitely has limitations. The idea can work but it has to be within a narrow time period for the effected characters.

Who writes AWLL? Or where might one find it? One of the reasons I follow discussions is because of recommendations of great stories or authors. I often google things like "NTR,d". I can do author searches on my Android app, but I get lost on a series of letters. Thanks!

Who writes AWLL?

The story is "A Well Lived Life" by Michael Loucks

If the title sounds familiar, it's because the author changed his pen name from Penguintopia

@Capt. Zapp

Thank you! I had not heard of his prior name.

ChiMi ๐Ÿšซ

It still boggles my mind how Michael can put out AWLL books so fast in that quality.

You want to ship a butt-load of penguins to your favorite authors? Go for it!

Free-range, organic penguins, only, of course.
