Question about Second Chance by Number7

Galler

Hi!
So I thought that Second Chance started out like a kind of sweet taboo true love story.
Then life just keep on shitting on MC. Like seriously shitting him over and over again. I'm now 50 chapters in and about everything bad that can happen has happened to him, and every woman has to leave him for one reason or the other.

Does he find someone more permanent like in the beginning (i keep hoping Beth will come back with her own 'second chance' that would allow them to be together without the taboo, but that might be farfetched.) and does the the spirit and sweetness of the beginning return? I've honestly spent more time in tears for the poor guy than aroused, and I want to know if it's going to keep being miserable with short affairs with women he doesnt really love, so that I might pick up something else in that case. Thanks for any insights!

@Galler

The protagonist seems destined to have intervals of helping people and mostly loveless sex before fate shits on him yet again and sends him into yet another body.

I think there's enough variation for it to be entertaining and I hope the author continues the story.

Just keep reading and you will be pleasantly surprised before it all goes pearshaped as usual

I stopped reading about November last year within Chapter 25 of Book 5.
He is now at Book 13 Chapter 1.
I don't think I'll ever read the other chapters and books.

There are some stories/series that are just too long to start reading.

@richardshagrin

There are some stories/series that are just too long to start reading.

As a reference to Second Chance it looks that way but many / most of the books (as in collections of chapters)can be read individually. Some of the shorter books might be uninteresting but the longer ones are almost self contained.
