dotB - Beyond the Mirror

Dinsdale ๐Ÿšซ

https://storiesonline.net/n/57366/beyond-the-mirror has started posting. I can't remember that story as having been on BtFH so it appears that Lazeez has permission to post the stories on dotB's site.
https://storiesonline.net/n/50797/blame-charlie was seemingly posted in one fell swoop in early August, something I'd either forgotten or not noticed in the first place.

I just started re-reading this, myself.

In Chapter Two, Tom states that gold is now five hundred dollars Troy ounce. Imagine that.

Has this been posted here before? I'm sure I've read this story.

It was posted on his site (which is still there), but - as I wrote - I can't remember it having been on BtFH.

He used to post stories on BtFH many years ago but a troll drove him to remove everything from there. There was more to it than that, it was the identity of the troll which angered him.

What made me start this thread was that I was wondering if he had restored his stories there at some point, the alternative being that his site is also being migrated here.

I can't remember it having been on BtFH.

The (partial) scrapes I have from BtFH, 2020/01 and 2025/09, do not have dotB nor K.Pelle in the authorlist

Grin and Bear It

Did that used to be spelled Gryn? I have a faint echo of a memory of 'Gryn and Bear It'

I'd guess it's coming here anyway.

Me too - but I'd rather have something I've not read (and looks interesting) now, rather than repeatedly check my browser history to see it's under two years since last time. I'm currently rereading a story here I've not read in >5yr, and still remember a fair bit of detail on what's coming next. OTOH, waiting, and reading it here using this computer, means that in a couple of years I don't think I've not read it.

Anyone know if the author is still amongst us? I see several unfinished stories on his website, dormant for some time which never is a good signโ€ฆ

Considering that the most recent entry is 9 years old, it is unlikely that he will continue. I am surprised that the website is still running.

@moondog_199

I had various ways of contacting him and all of them ceased working around September 2020, although he did have reason to keep his head down around then.
The email addresses I had for him are all inactive, there has been no sign of him in any of the forums he used to frequent. He knew how to get in touch with me and I was not part of "the problem". If he had still been frequenting those forums (some allowed anonymous access) he would have seen me trying to get his attention back then.

Oh, and checking the obits came up negative.

@Dinsdale

If I remember correctly he indicated or someone close to him indicated he lost a family member (son?) and it was devastating. To the point he lost interest in writing, also there was an issue of his editors having issues. There may be more on his website as the last time I looked, his blog was still there. Actually it has been quite a while since I looked at his page. His stories are some of the best!

@rustyken

His son died, everything I know about that is on his website, but it was over three years later that he himself vanished.
If you look at his site, click on "Contact". The thing is, he has/had my email address and he knew me well enough to be sure I had no part in the problems he described there.
