is there a way to find stories that include midgets in the tale?
If you click on Advanced Search and use midget in Story Text Search, you will get 400+ stories.
You can also get 400+ using the quick search on the home page. Note that not all those results are stories about short people. Some results include midget cars, a kids football league, or someone just saying they are bigger than a midget.

Thus making them 'midget+' sized? ;)
