This has been tickling the back of my brain. I read this story years ago. The MC is driving back home and ends up buying two teenage girls (younger sister later revealed to be psychic) that have had a really hard life (abuse and neglect). He takes them in and marries/adopts them. I remember he buys the older sister an Alfa Romeo Spyder.
I seem to remember it was by Rod O'Steele and called "I Bought Two Girls" but I can't find any evidence it ever existed.

It's funny. I did an advanced search for the exact title and got nil; all I was missing was an exclamation mark. The general search box on the homepage finds it easily. I don't use it because it seemed to generate too many results.
Yeah, I remembered that the younger sister predicted that the MC would buy her sister a "spider". But at the time, she didn't realise that it was a car made by Alfa Romeo. It's one of those oddly specific plot points that sticks with you.
