Axeman Inconsistencies Once seen cannot be Unseen

Charro6 ๐Ÿšซ

First, I am not a writer. I do not know what writers go through to complete a story. So this is not criticizing in any way. It is just an observation and opinion from one reader.
I love the story the first time I read it. I enjoyed it again the second time I read it. But I started to notice inconsistencies in the dates.
The more I look for the more I found. I really loved this story. So they might not have been that bad.
Once seen cannot be unseen.
First, when did the gates first appear was in September or October. Different times throughout the story it could pointed to either.
Second several specific dates were mention throughout the story and the timeline between those dates do not match up.

SPOILER

Jason mentioned going solo in his green gate twice. Nine days the first time, five days a second. He then took the girls in three times, and once with Heather that makes six times in his green gate. Not possible and still be on the first floor.
When the team acquired the second green gate they went to do five runs. If each run took four or five days with a 10 day cool down. It would take 2 1/2 months to do the run. If they left beginning of June they would not get back to Chicago till the middle of August when Jason was going to Washington DC. Yet they made it back and they were able to do several more runs.
So many more runs were done during the time frame than possible.
Once seen cannot be unseen.
I will have a hard time rereading this story again. And if he does come out with a part two, I am afraid a timeline will be in the forefront of my mind while reading it.

I haven't read the story being discussed, but there's an obvious question: is it explicitly stated that time runs the same way and speed both sides of those gates? If not, do you count away days this side, or "adventure" days that side?

It is definitely stated the time is the same inside and out.

But that is just one of the many time related issues.

Not sure if it was stated but it was implied that the gate had a 10 day down AFTER exiting before entering again

I am actually re-reading this story right now... did you forget he got a perk along with his first gold title, that allows him to enter an unlimited number of gates without penalty?

That would solve the issue of multiple gates in a short time frame, though I am not certain it applies with entering the same gate before the cool-down expires.

It also doesn't address the 6th time you say he used his green gate, but I don't remember him going in 3 times with the girls, so I would have to backtrack and check.

Anyway, I have reached the section where he gets the first gold box from the Canadians, but no obvious timing gaffs have come to mind, so I will keep it in mind as I progress.

His deal allows him I enter gates more often but how can you get 40-50 days in a month. Time down plus time training plus time partying does not allow time for gate runs.

Decided to re-read this and came across this nugget:

Toward the end of Chapter 6, some of the gate rules are mentioned. Says the gate has a 10-day cool-down period after someone has entered it (didn't say in that section if the clock started at entry or exit, though). However, an individual can access up to 2 gates within a 10-day period.

I admit. I cannot add very well.

unfortunately, it's a uncorrectable brain problem that will never be 'fixed'.
something about my right and left side of the brain not speaking to each other very well.

I have noticed that there are a few numbers issues with axeman. But I believe that they are 'very few'.

as for Captain Le Fleur or whatever the hell his name is.
Yes, I know that his rank is very incorrect -I may even address that one year. but probably not this year.

I truly love this story and enjoyed reading it several times. I will probably reread it again at a later date. Especially if you do another chapter.

It was not until after a few times rereading the story that I noticed this issue. It wasn't until produced a Calendar, and started marking off dates as they were told in the story that I really seen the issue. Then I went chapter by chapter line by line with an OCD mentality and found a few more.
