To kick this idea off, I guess my particular specialized skills are large-group dialogues (3 to 6 characters interacting with each other, especially for 'transitional chapters', where you need to explain details without bogging the story down. I'm also VERY good at applying science to stories in a way that's both factual and relatable. Otherwise, most of my specific techniques tend to generate hostile reactions, so I won't even bother suggesting those more controversial topics.
You can keep your $5 and I'll just hold your coat whilst the usual suspects rip apart your self proclaimed expertise. Note that I'm not questioning your ability I've just seen far to many replies that start "I've no knowledge about X but in MY opinion…" Followed by numerous pointless posts of uninformed bombastic opinion.

So when certain individuals start piling on, I've always found it best to step away, and then stay away until some semblance or normalcy returns.

Fair enough. After thinking about it, I could not recall an incidence where you deleted a post after deliberately flaming or stirring the shit. My apologies for insinuating it.

I didn't think that was your aim. I actually think your suggestion is laudable. My issue is sorting the opinionated from those with actual experience. Gaining help with dialogue etc is something that can be done by finding an editor. Getting help with subjects the author hasn't any knowledge of is another matter and I agree that having access to those with specialist knowledge would be useful.
It remains to be seen if others show interest in offering knowledge or seeking it.
