Visual Novels and/or Adult Games

Have any of you guys ever considered moving from writing novels to making visual novels/adult games? There's a site like storiesonline but for the VN/porn game community and the person who's making the top rated game on that site currently has a little under 10k subscribers on patreon which means he is at the very least making $10000 a month and upwards of $100000 or more depending on subscriber tier.

I know making VN/porn games require a different set of skill sets but most people on that other site use basic engines like renpy or rppg maker which seems to require little to no start up fee if you use the base character packs.

Some of these games tend to have long patch cycles, games never come out fully completed unless they are on the smaller side of content with some games being known to take up to 6 months for new content to come out so it seems like you get more time to develop a game then you do if u need to write out a full chapter ever single day tho i guess making visuals and renders for a game requires more time in general so it probably even's out in the end.

Don't get me wrong and i could be wrong as i don't know how much your average author makes on sites like this rather it be threw publishing it on here or with patreon / some random other donation site but it seems like Visual Novels and/or Adult Games is the way to go if your strictly looking at it to make more money.

What are you're thoughts on the subject? Do you write novels because its a passion or are you trying to make a living off it? Does anyone have any experience on the subject specifically novel writing vs making adult games? I assume the story telling is easy enough to apply to both so that seems like a nonfactor.

BTW i didn't link the other site on purpose as i know some of the admins don't like that kinda stuff so if your interested pm me and i'll let you know what it is.

I have played with it. But I have no artistic skills, and was doing it with images I was making inside a video game.

But the sheer amount of work caused me to give it up. Most visual games have thousands of images, and that is not even counting any that might be animated. I just gave up, it simply was not worth the work in the end.

I have talked with a few makers that wanted people to submit scripts, and even then I just shrugged and walked away. One seemed enthusiastic about adapting one of my stories, but then he was trying to hit me with a one time $5k sale, and he would retain all rights after that.

Needless to say, I turned that right the fuck down.
