Happy New Year!
It's 08:30 January 1, 2021 here and most of the US should have passed the mark a half hour ago. The west coast has 30 minutes to go.
For all of you and your families: I hope you get a better 2021 than the past year has been. It has been a rough year but it did have a few positive sides: a huge drop in air pollution (no airplanes!) and a lot of endangered animal species seem to be doing better. Think positive!
being up all night.
Got to love time zones. It's not quite 12 hours since your post, and it's only 1115 here in Oklahoma. With 5 plus inches of snow on the ground. Ick.
I actually said to heck with it last night, and went to bed about 10:30. Got woke up at midnight courtesy of some raucous neighbors that thought we were in the middle east or something. Instead of shooting off fireworks - which one person still did, anyway - they went out and fired guns. Wife was going, they're shooting fireworks off. I said, nope. Amazing how easy it is to tell the difference.
It's funny how familiar that difference is (I live south of you off 35 just after the split). They were shooting off fireworks at a reception/event facility on the border of my neighborhood (300 yards). Then from about 5 degrees N direction I hear one "boom" pretty sure it was from either an 8 or 10 gauge shotgun. Fireworks then stopped.
Happy New Year to you guys. Looking forward to the New Year and New stories.
hope you all enjoyed your black eyed peas.....
Black eyed peas = coins.
Collard greens = foldin' money.
Cornbread? Gold, I think.
The more you eat, they more you can expect in the new year. But have no proof that any of the above actually works. All I've ever gained is pounds (not the British kind, either).
