Ok, I just submitted my 1st story file for submission and after "saving and continuing" the shortcut, I was back in the submission area. Where can I see this shortcut? Or should I have clicked on "save and exit"?
I have no idea if the file I uploaded was actually submitted or not. Is there any way for me to tell?

I ran into this. Saving and continuing doesn't submit the story.
When you get to the step where you supply the story text either by file or copy/paste, you have to click the Attach button.
Once you've clicked Attach you will get re-directed to another page with buttons to submit for posting or cancel.

That was exactly the problem I had. Took me a while to figure out what I did wrong.

I don't use docx.
I would recommend contacting Lazeez directly using the contact link at the top right of the SOL homepage.
He may be able to tell you if there was a problem with the file that caused it to not process correctly.
Also make sure you attached the correct file.

I never saw that. I attach docx files with no problem.
At the top of each file, I have:
story title
author name
chapter number
[the story text]
That provides the moderator information for posting it correctly. If you don't have it, maybe it got posted under another author or story.
I added the story title, author name, and chapter number, and will resubmit the story if I need to.
