Anyone heard from Kraken lately?

geeko ๐Ÿšซ

I'm eagerly awaiting the next Installment to Robledo Mountain series - the Rangers - which according to his blog was to start in July....

On his site it says "coming soon" so I don't think he has finished it yet or it is still in an editing stage. I assume he doesn't start posting until it's available on his site and/or other ebook stores, maybe even wait a little longer.

That actually runs counter to SOL reader preferences. The majority of my SOL sales are from readers who read the entire story for free, and then 'reward' me by purchasing the story to encourage me, while also allowing them to read the story multiple times. Luckily, with my complex and subtle emphases, my stories have always held up to multiple readings, and my SOL fans have always appreciated, and reward me financially for it.

It isn't that SOL readers are 'cheap', instead, they want to know that you have a decent story overall, rather than laying out their hard-earned cash reserves to purchase books with horrid, weak endings!

At least with bookapy I thought most authors put up the finished book so that readers who can't wait for posting to finish can buy it. I think that mostly goes for new work. I did that in some cases although I must say I agree with you that what I bought most was what I already read for free to support the authors.

Actually, that's always been the case with Bookapy. The only semi-recent change was allowing anyone to post on Bookapy, allowing them to avoid working with Amazon entirely, as Bookapy's pay rates are much better than anyone else's, especially after Amazon recently dropped their already question pay rates (which NEVER matched their claims) about 10%, across the board.

Again, I don't object to Lazeez building his sites, what I do object to are authors who can't be bothered determining whether their works fit the site, rather than jump dumping the works and hoping for the best (then bitching when it doesn't).

And what does determine "fit the site"? Bookapy is a completely separate entity from SOL and it's sister sites. Sure, it was first promoted through SOL and it has a link on the home page but that doesn't say it's part of the SOL family. What "fits" Bookapy has nothing to do with what "fits" on one of the other WLPC sites.

Book 5 'Rangers' isn't available on his site so I guess he's still writing it or it's being edited. I think he's on Facebook too under his name P.C. Allen but I have that garbage site completely blocked.

Well, it seems he finished his last posting on finestories on 08/14/20, so he's still with us at that point anyway. Probably just got hung up with other stuff, I always say, life comes at ya fast

Anyone heard from Kraken lately?

Wasn't he killed by Perseus a few thousand years ago?

At that point, Medusa's head was just a weapon, Perseus was the one wielding it.

So you're saying Kraken died as a result of Perseus giving him head?

Kraken posted on his blog today that he is recovering from a bad disease. He has just a few chapters left to write for the new book Rangers.
