Calibre 4.5.0

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

I just installed 4.5.0 and when I opened a book with E-book Viewer I no longer have the toolbar controls on the left of the page of text. All I see is the text of the page.

If I right click the tex,t I can get a ToC, but even that is different. It's a separate window.

Any idea how I can get the toolbar on the left back (it's what has the forward and back arrows, etc.)? I must have done something to hide it.

a lot will depend on which ebook reader you're using. However, if it's the one you get when you open Calibre then highlight a book and click on View on the Calibre toolbar you right click anywhere in the ebook window to see the Settings menu for the ebook reader. Select Preferences by left clicking on it, then click on Miscellaneous at the bottom of the list, then left click on the box beside Show a toolbar with the most useful action to have the box change to show a tick in it, then left click on OK.

edit to add, back out of the settings and the toolbar is on the left.

then click on Miscellaneous at the bottom of the list, then left click on the box beside Show a toolbar

That did it. Thanks.

But the ToC used to be part of the e-reader page. It's now a separate window. I also used to have to resize the page window every time I went into the e-reader. I now noticed there's a box to check to remember the last page size. So I got that nice feature too.

Thanks for the tip, as I'd never noted that new feature.

I've been using 4.5.0 for nearly a week, and I still get the various divided sections. The left hand aisle is the file browser, so if you don't have many chapters, it may not appear. I also noted that the default (on my system) is set to 'display toolbar on full screen', so expanding your window to full screen might restore it, if so you could then shrink it again until it disappears and them back it out again. It's cludgy, but it might work.

There's also a "Show Sidebar" command, I'm guessing it would be < Shift>< Ctrl>L" on a PC.
