There's a vehicle i see being used in parks around where I live - it's green and looks like a John Deere. but it seems to be electric (I can't hear it when it goes by)and the label on the side says "Gator".
Does anybody know anything about it. is it electric. Does it have an electronic ignition?

They are John Deeres.
Only The Work Series and the Turf Utility Vehicles have full electric options. All are available in gas or diesel. I would presume that the gas and diesel models have electronic ignitions most motorcycles do these days, and a kick starter would work well on a side by side 2 or 4 seat ATV.

Or, the jackass driving it turns off the engine while coasting downhill to see how fast he can get it up to (something many teens do in mildly hilly country).
