"In progress" to "Inactive"

red61544 ๐Ÿšซ

How long does an author have before his "in progress" story becomes listed as "inactive"? I began a story which has to be dangerously close to inactive but, since the author has more than 20 "in progress" stories and only one inactive, I took a chance on it eventually being completed.

one year from when he last posted to it.

Just to clarify, if the author eg amended the description, would that reset the counter or does it have to be an addition to the main body of the story?

@awnlee jawking

if the author eg amended the description,

Or changed a story code? Or reposted an existing chapter?

If I recall correctly, amending the description or changing story codes would not reset the timer used to determine if a story is in progress or inactive.

Adding a new chapter will reset the counter to a date one year after it was posted.

I am not sure what would happen if you reposted an existing chapter using the wizard under normal conditions. Even if that would not normally change the story status, a note to the moderators might be enough to do it. Alternatively when reposting a chapter you could have the story set to "complete" and then post an end note saying that more of the story is coming.

My understanding is only the submission of a new chapter would reset the counter.

Thanks.

If I were designing the system, that's the way I'd do it too.
