Why thank you. More than anything else, simple appreciation is more payment than most of us will ever receive, so it's considered ample payment. Traditionally published authors almost never hear a word of encouragement, other than from their publishers ('Trust me, you'll make money eventually') and their few public signings when someone recognizes them (as opposed to wondering who the hell they are).
