I need advice of setting up a new Author Blog/Story Wiki page

Stultus ๐Ÿšซ

To make a long story short, I've had enough of Google Sites. I've had my Author Blog/Story Wili there for a long time.... but my account uses a MSN email address for access - which is now apparently forbidden!

Screw them.

Anyway, I think I should just start over and rebuild somewhere else. Here's what I have now, and I'd prefer a format somewhat similar:

Obviously, WordPress and Wix come to mind as perhaps suitable replacements. Good or not-so?

Suggestions?

Looks like a very good candidate for WordPress.

I second Wordpress. It's what I used to make my author site.

I use both WordPress: VincentBerg.com and also my own self-created html pages crumblywriter.net. You can see what you think of either. However, keep in mind, that WordPress is a nightmare, because they is NO reliable means of soliciting feedback which won't be overwhelmed by WordPress based Spam engines!

I've found that requiring registration solves that problem (though it does create others).

I did that, I also refused automatic joining by existing WP members and installed software to 'ensure' only humans joined, all to no avail. I still end up with hundreds of spam 'members'. There's no way I can allow anyone to comment without opening myself up to a ton of spam.

There are some plugins out there that add captcha's or do some kind of checking to weed out the spam. Although some work better than others and none are 100%, at least not that I've found.

Ah. I run mine on my own server, and have verified accounts plus anti-spam plugins. I think the big difference is running on my own server.
