Sorry-not-sorry for resurrecting this old thread. I didn't read any of the contest winners at the time, but in the last week I've read three and each one blew me away. One of them literally brought tears to my eyes. If you're like me and skipped these stories, do yourself a favor and check them out. What the contest may have lacked in quantity compared to the Halloween contests, it more than makes up for in quality.
Meh. Perhaps I'm a souless man. But I found these writings excessively contrived. The emotional complexities is beyond my little mind's comprehension.
My defintion of a realistic love story, based on experential reference, is that someone meets someone. They get the hots for each other. Bang each other for a while. Decide to try permamence. Then see if it works. If not, rinse and repeat.
