The story is by Kidd Wigger. It's called Flight of the Code Monkey.
Just wondering if one of of the great authors on this site can or would continue the project? Or is that even allowed or possible?

Its possible based on the Posting guidelines (Emphasis mine):
16. If you don't log into Storiesonline for more than 3 years, your stories will get moved into the archives which are accessible to premier members only. We may give interested authors permission to finish any work you left unfinished.
There have been cases where the estate of a deceased author has given permission for someone to finish one of more stories by that author.
I know of another case where someone is writing a fan fiction story based on an incomplete story by a missing author.
Yes, there are several instances of this being done, the most current one that I've noted being the continuance of Cold Creek's The Defenceman series (The Defenceman, Dman2, and Dman 3) in a new story called Defenceman: Parallel Ice (Non-canonical saga) by Cold Creek Tribute Writer.
Personal opinion warning: I get the impression that while the practice is accepted as part of the terms around here, it's also considered to be good form to clearly indicate if the continuation work is either sanctioned by the original writer, or else done in a vaccuum, so to speak.
Honestly, it's tough to continue someone else's work, no doubt. Getting the tone and voice of the characters right is painfully difficult. Brandon Sanderson is possibly one of the few I've seen get close enough when he finished Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Maybe Todd McCaffrey, too.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like 'Kid' has logged in since 2021, but would love for the story to be picked up.
