How many times can an author update a story in a day?

Crumbly Writer 🚫

This is an honest question, but while waiting indefinitely for the few stories I'm reading, I've been checking both the Series Updates and the New Stories multiple time. When I noticed that the same ongoing 'shorts' are continually being updated several times in the early morning alone. I mean like five or sex times.

Is this just to get the attention or what, as I can't imagine that many separate updates in such a short period. In fact, I wasn't even aware you could do it, assuming they'd all be lumped in and posted as the same time.

What am I seeing, or are my meds just that far off again? I'm not bitching, I'm genuinely curious, or is this somehow related the Lazeez preparing for the new alternate server?

If you open the story home page, showing the chapter list, then click on 'more info' at the bottom of the page (may be a premier feature), it will show the time each chapter was first posted and the time it was last updated. Does this information correlate with your observations?

ETA Any updates have to be processed by management and they check the postings queue several times a day. In that respect there's a practical limit of perhaps half a dozen or so.

Some authors do that for no logical reason.

I had an author submit a new story and then as soon as it was posted, they submitted chapter 2. Happens often.

But this time, as soon as I processed chapter 2, he posted chapter 3. I waited until the next morning thinking he'll post more and I'll process them in one batch, but no. The next morning it was only chapter 3 in the queue.

Processed chapter 3, only to have chapter 4 submitted!

Well it went like that for 10 chapters and no reply from the submitter to a message that I sent them.

That's pretty much the reason I assumed, yet that's why I asked. As there really was no particular reason for it.

I've seen plenty repost entire stories, a chapter at a time, just to get up and revitalize their older stories, which at least makes sense to a certain extend, but this confounded me.

I think I'm on version 68 of the 1st chapter of OTA but that's over 11 years.
