Pen names

jimq2 ๐Ÿšซ

Has anyone created a cross reference file of the people with multiple pen names? Some I know because they talk about them in their blogs like Aroslav & Rottweiler. Others I suspect because when reading ABC's story, I think, "That sure reads like XYZ's style." So many time I will read and like something and wonder if they have written anything else under another name.

Sometimes the author creates different pen names because the stories are very different.

Definitely this. My stories under this name are published multiple places. My other pen names are exclusive to SOL and will pretty much forever remain that way

I have noticed that some writers, who use the same Editor(s), or Proofreaders, tend to write similar stories in a similar matter. Their newer stories, influenced by beneficial editing, and other improvements to their writing, in some ways become similar.

Most often this is an improvement to their writing.

It isn't always the case. However, I noticed certain similarities by some different writers, then I noticed they shared Editors, or others who help with their stories before being posted.

Here on SOL, Lazeez knows ALL the various pen names, though finding published author's pen names are more tricky, however those are widely discussed in the industry, and are thus easier to track over time.

For a long time I published using two different one (published using one, posted using another) and having written a couple of alternate rape stories (similar to my older pseudo-incest stories), I was strongly considering yet another pen name for those (though the recent support here has ultimately convinced me not too).

Though even if I had, I'd have used the alternate pen name, yet on the last page of the stories, you'd see the link to purchase the novel, under my own name, so that's more of hiding in plain sight.

But historically, pseudonyms weren't used as much for porn, it was mostly to prevent your most loyal fans from abandoning you, assuming you were abandoning them, so mostly, anytime you'd write in a new genre, they'd inevitable create a pen name just for that. And again, the publishers were fully aware of who was who and which names they used for which books even if it wasn't published by them. So Lazeez's role is the same as it's always been throughout history.

Though in the case of classical porn, if you informed your publisher what you were writing, they could be forced to testify against you in court, so no one told their publishers for that reason alone.
