Just out of curiosity, how do I view how many times a story has been read?
some new stories have been posted recently but didn't see yours. You can look at "downloads" there, under "updates" or "author/editors - story stats", Hover the mouse over the number under "week" and you can see how many each day for last 7 days

Depends on whether it's yours or someone else's. If it's yours, then go to the top left, click on 'Authors/editors' then on 'Story Stats'.
If it's someone else's, then the current (rough) total is displayed between the story size and the number of votes.
You haven't used your author name to post here, which is annoying because it is the 'Author Hangout'. But from the information you posted, your story currently has nearly 1000 downloads.
