I just read a new review posted today of G. Younger's A Stupid Boy Senior Year Part III. and he ended it with this advice "This story is ready for continuation. And it needs it." I just had to laugh.

The joke being?
a new review posted today ends with "This story is ready for continuation. And it needs it."
To me the joke is the reviewer in unaware the author is now already in the third sequel with A Better Man Book 3.
Maybe the reviewer had written this review back then and forgotten to post it, found it now and posted it without checking the facts and actualizing his review.
Really funny!
HM.
Thanks ๐๐ผ I'm not familiar with the work of G. Younger, so I couldn't appreciate the irony.
I'm not familiar with the work of G. Younger
If you want to change that, I recommend you start with 'The Third Son'.

The continuation changed the series name.
A Stupid Boy is continued in A Better Man.
The last ongoing book isn't listed in the series:

If I were G Younger I'd create a Universe page and add both series. I'm aware that the description for Better Man states that it's a continuation, but the average new reader isn't going to look at random books to see if a series continues.
It's fine for now, but a decade from now good organisation will be key to getting new readers.
for a long time I thought only non-authors could write reviews.
That would prevent any conflicts of interest. But I don't see how it could be enforced.

I thought only those who write stories all able to write a review on this site
I'm not sure if this is still true, but in the past if you wanted to write a review, you have/had to ask Laz and he would change your account to that of 'reviewer'. You also had to abide to a set of rules, one of which being that you had to write only constructive reviews and negative reviews would be rejected. If you didn't write a review after a certain time, your reviewer status would be removed and your account reverted to what it had been previously.

You can write a critical review. Criticizing spelling, grammar, plot, etc. Just offer constructive criticism, suggested improvements, or even why you thought the concept was good, but execution lacking.
You are not allowed to post a review like: This story was total shite, and the author is an idiot!
I wrote a very critical review of a story. I mentioned that I thought the concept was interesting. However, not only was the story difficult to read, there were so many spelling and grammar errors, I didn't finish reading the story. I did mention what was good, concept, and interesting characters.
I offered to PM the author with some suggestions, and volunteered to proofread for him. I further mentioned if he made some corrections, I would update my review.
More than a year later there has been no changes to the story, nor efforts to contact me. My critical review is still up.
I offered reasonable suggestions of how to improve the story. Thus my review is critical, not negative.
I had seen some comments in the Forums about the story, and that others weren't willing to write a review because it would be negative. The concept of the story intrigued me. So, I read (most of) it. I would really like to see the story be edited and improved, because it really could be a good story.
