AI Writing Tools - Wordiness

My process is:

1. Raw Draft: I write in MS Word - with spell check on. I keep one word file for each chapter.

2. Read it once/ Here I am trying to get rid of errors but also be more descriptive.

3. Put it into Grammarly - Correct about 120+ errors. A lot of comma placement, sloppy spacing, etc.

4. Put it into the Email editor here on this site. my browser highlights stuff in red, blue and strangely it takes out all the weird paragraphing that Word insists on doing. Word indents some paragraphs, others it doesn't. It spaces some paragraphs out and others it doesn't. This rinsing process gets rid of that garbage.

5. Read it again. Make more manual corrections, embellish/fine tune. Here I am prepping a final draft.

6. Put it into "Writer" which is a Ms Word knock off. I do this because MS Word has all sorts of hidden codes when it makes HTML

7. Save it as a HTML file to upload.

8. Read it again on the website. I do not know what but seeing it on the site really makes it easier for me to spot the errors. I'll make more corrections if necessary and re-upload.

What I am looking for is one more tool. I would love something like ChatGPT but it won't touch an erotic story.

Grammarly does a little word choice, but not much. What I want is something that scans for frequent words like "However"

Example:

I have a tendency to use "However" a lot. When I am reading my story I will often not notice that I said However a few paragraphs earlier and I did it again. What I want is for a tool that can easily highlight that stuff, and preferably even re-word it for me using appropriate grammar. Pro-Writing Aid calls those "Echoes" due to how frequently you hear the same thing.

It might also recognize that there were three paragraphs or sentences that all began with the same word. I am looking for the ability to fine tune my writing without changing the context.

Is there an affordable tool out there that you can recommend? Preferably with the ease of use of a Grammarly or MS Word tool, and even better an AI like ChatGPT that tolerates NSFW stories.

I have "ProwritingAid" which can highlight these things but for the life of me I can't figure out how to automatically move to the next issue and correct it. It's just a lot of reports.

For grammar and spelling, at least, turn off 'realtime' and click the 'grammar' button. Then click on the item in the left column and click the arrow, or hover over the change. Click the arrow next to the desired action. It will perform the action (correction, ignore, etc) and move to the next item.

For other types (e.g. 'style') do the same thing.

Oh wow. That is a huge help on Pro-Writing Aid. Thank you.

It seems like a time consuming process, but that is what I am looking for. Just to be clear, I have to highlight one of the errors, click the little "Go to" button and go to it, then select the fix?

PWA found 176 repeats in a draft, but it's words like "have", "used" and "going" that are common.

Can you recommend another tool that is faster/easier? going to triage and even help me auto-correct common mistakes?

I want to be able to tell it not to be concerned with common adverbs or character names. I want it to tell me that I used certain words like pussy or cock too close together.

Extreme example: "He touched his cock and told her to suck it. She sucked his cock. The cock walked into the room and looked at him cocking his shotgun. The Rooster cock-a-doodled-dooed out of there. There was a cock drawn on the clock."

I want something smart enough to tell me to basically fuck off out of here with that paragraph and even offer to rewrite it for me.

I am trying to break up my use of common words like that and use variation but some things like "have" or "going to" are just going to be prevalent.

I am very thankful to know how to actually work this thing. I bought the lifetime sub and couldn't figure out how to make it work.

You're welcome. I only use it for grammar as it's suggestions in other areas make it not sound like me, or worse, make things less clear. It also has a really hard time with legal, medical, theological, and technology paragraphs.

E.g it absolutely refuses to accept the term 'canon' as being correct (wanting to make it cannon) and there is literally no way to fix it. It also makes a ton of "your" versus "you're" errors, along with "then" versus "than" errors.

I've tried Grammarly as well, and it has its own foibles.

any other tools?

ChatGPT is great for some things, but it won't even consider erotica.

I've looked for other AI tools. I really enjoy SudoWrite because it will engage in some NSFW topics, but it's more of a writer's block tool and not really going to help ME become a better writer.

I've read that Novelai.net will do what you're looking for.

So far, nothing has improved on my editor, who's been with me nearly from the start. And he's good at busting through writer's block!
