Don Lockwood's stories are about to be archived. Get 'em while they're hot!
He turned up a few years ago, blogged that he was going to start writing again and finish "Rewind", and was never seen again.
I wonder if that really was him.
It's sad, hiding the stories of Don Lockwood and authors like him from open view is going to change SOL at some very core level that may not be obvious right now.
His stories were ones of the reasons I got hooked on SOL many years ago and made learning English less of a chore :).
Losing public access to 'Dance of a Lifetime' would be a travesty, even though I understand the rationale.
I agree. The same can be said about "Finding a Place" and "The Ghosts of Christmas Past". I think that I've read those three stories a dozen times each in the past and, if I live that long, at least another dozen in the future.
Well, his name has been removed from the 'To Be Archived' list and now has a normal status on the authorlist page, so either he logged in recently, or our illustrious leader has taken pity on us.
Fat Finger Edit
Thank you for keeping a legacy public.
I encourage more people to Purchase Membership in SOL, to keep the site accessible. Access to Premium stories is one of the reasons to do so.
There are other advantages too.
On the other hand, as a Writer, I like having more people read my stories.
His name has just reappeared on the TBA list, but only due to being a dual author of one of the stories. However, due to the odd handling of multi-author stories here, I would not be totally surprised if this prompts an abrupt (automatic) removal to archived status of his stories in a week.
