Is "The Medieval marine" that typical "mary sue" as it looks like in first chapter? "3 bronze stars, silver star, several black belts, 6'5", 260 lbs, degree in chemical engineering, etc, etc."
Ok. For once, I know such people do exist, and I have a friend, who is just like that, for real. But for a do-over/time travel story, the author better take this very seriously, or it becomes so cliche, that it is not sexy at all.
At least, does that yankee know any language past American English? Any blood, gore, medieval epidemics, genocide, religious bigotry, and all fun things why we all so much love the time and dream to get there? 😀
