That is a recurring theme in your request, whereas the other parts are variable. Why not request harem stories as a fixed constant, then the rest as a variable?

I think it's like this: he likes harem stories (understandable) but sometimes he wants to read a particular kind of story. And while he'd prefer that that 'type' also include his favorite element, it isn't mandatory.

If it were one or two times, I'd agree with you. However, it was multiple occasions with a wide disparity of variables. As he mentioned, he hadn't thought about it.
