The start of the "Beth" story has a really interesting take.
The daughter leaves an impish note for her mother - who she suspects is submissive anyway. It implies she must obey rules or she will be outed to her husband for seeing other men.
The author discarded this premise about 6 chapters in and never went back to it. I really would like a good blackmail story.
It needs to be plausible. If the humiliation/price to pay is far worse than being outed "Okay, run naked through the gym or I'll show pictures of your boobs you took in private" that's not plausible.
I'd prefer the blackmailer not be a combination Ninja/Hacker who is all omniscient. I like them to have some flaws and make mistakes too.
I'd prefer the person being blackmailed be somewhat deserving of it. I would feel guilty if not.
Lastly, some interesting premise would be really great.
Examples:
1. Wife cheats on hubby. Agrees to be his slave to save the marriage. (or hubby cheats on wife and agrees to be in the dog house. I'll go either way).
2. Wife and Husband are blackmailed - yes, I know every Vulgus story that explored that idea is gold. I already know Vulgus. These can be intriguing when one of them sells the other one out for self preservation too!
3. Turn the Tables Blackmail story: The blackmailer has the tables turned on them. Sweet revenge.
4. Fan Fiction - I'll take anything from Star Trek to the Brady Bunch.
