Not sure what you mean about how long and how happy, but all of my Rivers Region stories would fit that, I think, as would the Survivor series, Mallard Heir, and Play Ball.

Banadin's Rick Jackson saga would also meet that criteria, although most of them have to be bought on Amazon at the moment, but if you message him through SoL yo0u may be able to buy direct from him.

The Scot's Gunslinger is also good.
https://storiesonline.net/s/50644/gunslinger
What a nice recommendation I m little disappointed with no sex but I read little bit of Ernest Bywater works and i like it so much thank you very much
And for the other series I don't fan of do over and time traveler but thanks for pointing it out
Some spoilers below.
Banadin's books are great, the improbable adventures of a boy becoming a man, a movie star, a businessman, a knight, a diplomat and a secret agent. No sex, just a couple of teenage break ups after chaste dating. The one currently on SOL is probably the most boring of the series.
RLFJ's Grim Reaper series has a couple of kids who grow up together, marry, have kids and live happily ever after (a few minor things like going to war, surviving terrorist attacks and multiple gun battles as a cop don't prevent that). The childhood nemesis ends up defeated in the end.
RLFJ's A Fresh Start is a do-over where a guy goes back to his childhood and starts again. With his knowledge of the future he becomes immensely wealthy and powerful.
To save the nation he does betray a president, which he regrets as a necessary evil, but evil none the less. He dates (and screws around) while in school, with one sad break up after getting caught by her parents. The girls at school are just a way of marking time till he goes back to college to meet the love of his life again and live a second full life time with her.
Strong spoilers below.
Lazlo Zalezac's Emend by Eclipse is another do over. Two failures die during a total eclipse and go back to their teens to start again. One had been ruined by a whore of a wife. He refuses to have anything to do with her in his second time through, works hard with the goal of financial security, a nice wife, a white picket fence and a dog and obtains that at a very young age.
His friend is an autistic savant who doesn't feel human emotions. He had been married to a woman who left him when she realized he isn't capable of love or sympathy.
This time through he wants to be financially secure to think, invent and solve problems. He will use hookers for his physical needs. Again through hard work he obtains that. His hooker has a major major problem. He solves it. She realizes his genius can't be allowed to die and quietly has his kids without his permission.
As the years go by the two friends have worked hard to make the world a better place, wondering if their work has meaning. The last line of the book shows that they have. It brought tears to my eyes. Happy tears.
Lazlo's The Reset Manifesto is a very long work, no sex, lots of politics as a man goes about fixing the world.
If you are looking for stories about human relationships then its probably not what you are after, but its a long work with a very high score and may take your mind off your woes.
Even if the stories mentioned so far are maybe not exactly what you are looking for they are certainly worth reading. They are all very good and probably on many favorites lists.

Jay Cantrell has some great stories. A few will not suit your needs as they contain cheating and betrayal.
Finding shelter has a jaded newspaperman whose ex wife has tried to destroy him, he takes in a rape victim who has lost everything. They find shelter in each other. Lots of human drama, teen kids rebelling, the ex wife trying to get him back, the rapist on the lose, but in the end its a love story about mature adults.

Death & a Life in Emerald Cove is a police detective story. Be warned, the main character is very depressed at the beginning and contemplating suicide. Instead he chooses life and a change of position and place, ending up secure with friends,a partner and a home.
https://storiesonline.net/s/76364/death-and-a-life-in-emerald-cove
https://storiesonline.net/s/11098/lifeline-drama-story is another detective story. The MC is a child welfarw lawyer, his wife is a prosecutor. His trailer trash ex wife and step daughter enter their lives and things start to go out of control. Suspicion mounts. Is she cheating or simply in too deep with the police. Is she breaking the law and risking jail to obtain false convictions? Corrupt cops, drug kingpins and runners, corrupt politicians, meddling judges, a little girl that needs saving from all of the above and a marriage that needs saving from the wifes obsession with her job.
I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't finish the book feeling happy.
https://storiesonline.net/s/15372/learning-curves
Learning curves has a social climbing college girl meeting a son of wealth. She doesn't know it and treats him like an underling. Much drama as they fall in love together and grow up. Some swapping with another girl, so maybe not your cup of tea.
https://storiesonline.net/s/13709/runaway-train
Think Taylor Swift meets up with her high school crush, hoping there can still be magic. He's a former pro-athlete who was injured and is now a jaded PR man. She's the weird girl who moved to Nashville, had a make over and now runs a business empire. Can they smooth off their life hardened edges to make things work between them?
https://storiesonline.net/s/63874/unending-night
Unending Night and its Sequel Unforgettable Weeks is the opposite of Learning Curves. She's the ignored child of billionaires, he's the son of a single mother loving in a gang controlled building. A teen romance with a happy ending. Of course, as they are teens there is much personal drama. Interfering parents and grandparents.
A would be lothario bent on seduction. Gang bangers and wannabe bangers. Small minded teachers, hassling cops, incompetent administrators and a Sword in the Stone reveal.

https://storiesonline.net/s/50906/a-stitch-in-time
Is a great feel good story. Its a do forward. A kid wishes he could skip growing up. He wakes up and he has. He went to sleep a never kissed 14 years old geek and wakes up a 17 year old BMOC. Someone else has lived those years and he has no memory of them. His mother has died, his father has married a bimbo, his sister despises him, his school yard crush hates him, he's dating the school alpha bitch and screwing teachers on the side.
He needs to set things right, without getting committed, expelled or his teachers jailed, while dealing with the loss of his family.
Lubrican has two great stories behind the Premium paywall:
https://storiesonline.net/s/12871/bewitched
A scary guy in a skeleton suit waving a shotgun drags a beautiful woman and her two kids into his house. There is a riot outside. Her house burns down, he offers her a place to stay for a while. Then finds he doesn't want to let her and the kids go as they fill a hole in his life that he didn't know was there.
https://storiesonline.net/s/13021/the-professor-and-the-cheerleader
He's an English professor. You can almost smell his tweed jacket.
She's a cheerleader full of bounce and life. Together they find an old manuscript and are drawn together by events. She decided he is The One and he is dragged along in her wake.
Argon has several good stories where the MC and his girl remain faithful to each other.

Caution: in In her Genes, there is a brief breakup and the female MC is publically scene on a date with someone else during that time.
I m just wake up and read all your recommendation and description it's make me happy thanks all
Lazlo---millionaire next door---excellent read !!!
I agree, but he asked for no harem, so I didn't mention that or a few of my stories with multiple partners.
how many make a harem? I'm curious as to what others think. Personally I wouldn't call 3 a harem,,,4 maybe, but 5 or more yes,,,
Personally, for me it's not numbers that make the difference. For me, even in a modern setting outside of the Mid East, to be a harem there needs to be at least a little bit of a D/S element to it.

Verywellaged has a fair number of stories, some here, more on his ASSTR site with an older hero having a significant number of "girl friends" living with him. Mostly he doesn't call them harem stories but the girls live with him in his residence, and there is a fair amount of sex involved.

If that's the case, then a few more of my stories should fit, like Rough Diamond. I also just remembered Shiloh should fit as well.
As I understood it, he was okay with harem
one man with one girl or many (harem)
as he said one girl OR many (harem), not one girl NOT many (harem). That's how I read it anyways. My guess is that he meant that he doesn't mind the number of women involved, but he doesn't want there to be more than one man.
As I understood it, he was okay with harem
On re-reading the post it seems you're right. I'll have to work harder at being fully awake when I access the forum.
Ernest, please don't forget about your "Finding Home" and the subsequent "Chaos" stories for this reader. I think as a group they would fit as well.
I think as a group they would fit as well.
True, but I had skipped them, and others, due to misunderstanding the original post due to still being more asleep than awake when I read it. While some of my stories have a harem in them they aren't into sharing the way happens in many stories by others.
Actually, OP just didn't want multiple guys banging the same women. One guy with multiple women was fine.
Many of Wes Boyd's tales should suit, though there are less than 1/4 of them here. The first two Bradford Speedway/Bullring Days are here, also Cattail; the best for you I think would be Rocinante, The Next Generation and Dawnwalker, all down towards the bottom of the homepage of his spearfishlaketales site, and work up from there.
Most of Lazlo Zalezac's stories. Don Lockwood's stories. Al Steiner's "Doing It All Over" especially.
Most of Lazlo Zalezac's stories.
Does that include the John Carter stories? I loved Lazlo's Millionaire Next Door, and have been considering reading the John Carter ones since they have such good rating. However, like OP, I just can't stand multiple guys i.e swinging, gangbang, open relationships etc. I tried reading Oscar Meyers a long time ago, but stopped reading because it seemed like it was heading into a open relationship kind of way.
Did I missread the situation, or are open relationships a recurring theme in the series like my impression led me to believe?
Oh, the John Carter stories are different.
First off, the central family consists of a group marriage with several men in it, and they seem to pair up with any other member of the 'marriage' regardless of gender. So you may want to avoid those.
Also, Pfand X is another you might want to avoid if off-screen action bothers you. But most of his others would be fine.
For his stories, I'd probably rank them: Thunder&Lightening, Country Boys, Hunter, Magic, Service Society, Reset Manifesto, Millionaire Next Door... (if the 'war' series was one story, it would be easily in the top ten, same with the Donaldsons)
