I remember reading many stories here by a particular author some years ago, but can't remember his name. His style reminded me of Heinlein, in that there is lots of technical detail, a certain disdain for bureaucrats and government, and an overall theme of individualism and "prepping." A recurring theme is self reliance, often after finding (or even stealing) a lot of money. His main characters build very elaborate and protected retreats, outfit ships, and sometimes sail the world, usually with a woman or two as shipmate. The stories are full of technical details on how construction is done. Often, there is conflict between him and the authorities, including the military and government. Sometimes these are in a post-apocalyptic setting. There is often a science fiction element. I have tried to find him using the limited search functions available to a free member, but have not had luck. Any help would be appreciated.
