I'm looking for something where the female is the one who is trying to get a relationship started. Ideal would be if the male is reluctant for a valid reason, such as in Subjugation by James Galloway where a female alien marine wants to date MC, who doesnt want to be with one of Earths occupants. I don't really want FemDom, unless it's on the lighter side. I also prefer longer stories. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I too would like to read something like that, been following this thread since it was posted and I'm kind of sad that there hasn't been any suggestions. Hopefully there are someone out there who can recommend something?
Well, right off the top, of course, is the series of novels by James Galloway, more commonly known as Fel, if you haven't read them. https://forums.sennadar.com/index.php The sex does distract from the story line, in my opinion, in the later volumes, but arguable based upon the society he's designed for that series. He does attempt to keep it from becoming too formulaic. In that series, the first volume is definitely the best. Too many rabbits get pulled out of hats as the series progresses for my happiness. But if you haven't read Subjugation, do give it a try; the interaction between the male MC and the female alien marine is quite fun, as she pursues and he evades; true love does win out in the end, but only after some fairly amazing things occur; he's an engineering student learning the alien technology in school, and comes up with some sweet applications of it that they hadn't thought of, very embarassing to some of the occupation's troops; well, if they had body modesty, which they don't. His science wouldn't work in the real world, but he makes it self-consistent, which is all I ask of in non-hard SF.

There are a lot of females in that story who are interested in a limited number of males. The story is mostly about one male, but there are some others involved in the story.
You may also try a couple of Lazlong's stories: Washed Up, and arguably Help! have those elements.
I've read The Fountain of Youth by Lazlong before, and I started reading Washed up but I dropped it when it felt like it was going the multiple harems route, same reason I didn't like Arlene & Jeff and Leefstic. I don't mind harems, but I find that when side characters have their own harems, some great female characters get put on the sidelines. I remember in Leefstic as an example, one woman was introduced and given a great character and background over a few chapters (which was a pretty big part of the book as there arn't that many chapters), she was by far the most interesting female character and she got together with a side character, became obsolete and was more or less just mentioned in passing for the rest of the novel. I liked Washed up until it showed signs of going the forced multiple harem route.
Verfy mild form, but many of Oyster50's stories has the (usually teenage) female pursue an older male. Usually the pursuit is a short one, with the male getting over "I am too old for her" in a few chapters, but they are well-written if formulaic.
I really liked this one. I love matriarchal stories, only complaint I had really, is that it isn't finished and the last update was over a year ago, so don't know if it ever will be!
Sadly, FinalStand suffers heavily from depressions and takes a hiatus from time to time. I hope he'll finish at least some of his stories, eventually. But they are simply too good to pass them, complete or incomplete.
