Looking for stories where there is a significant age gap and, if younger woman, they cheat on the older husband and divorce ensues. If younger man then the older woman dies and the young widower has to try and move on.
Not looking for swinging or sharing, more interested in jealousy and betrayal.

I've seen friends (younger male/older female) getting in trouble when she hits the fifties, while he feels still in his prime time being below forty. So I don't need to read fictive stories about those problems and I don't.(read such stories).

This is part of the plot of one of Ross MacDonald's Lew Archer detective stories. A male college student falls in love with his female professor. Years later, she is an old lady with Alzheimer's and he tell everyone she's his mother. It's a good story, like most by this author, but I don't remember the title.
