Looking for an Editor

Armera Llsehi ๐Ÿšซ

I write science fiction erotica involving several various themes and I am in need of an editor. I write as a hobby and have managed to find an editor willing to work with me, and he has helped me greatly in my skills as a writer. However, he came into the game late. I have written over 30 stories and while he has been playing catch up with those past ones, he is also editing my current ones. And he does this all for free, which is something I find is difficult to find these days, especially since I can't afford an editor.
I am looking for someone that enjoys editing and helping to improve the skills of the writer. I'd like to share my work, but I do not wish to post anything but quality. If anyone is interested, I'd like to discuss this more and see if we can create a working relationship together.

Somewhere on SOL there is a list of people willing to edit stories together with the background they supply, the time they can spend etc.

Just had a look but can't find the list but no doubt someone else will know exactly where to look (or go to Home page, click Webmaster top right and ask Lazeez

No.
Go to the home page.
Top left, next to 'Home' is 'Authors/Editors'.
Hit PgDn once for a section 'Volunteer Editors'.
The top link in that gives you the full list.

Gotcha. Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, the list notoriously includes several no-longer working editors. However, I keep getting messages about whether I'm still editing (I don't have a lot of time to invest in editing since I write full time), so maybe the list is kept up to date now.

Many do as you do, posting here (or in the Author's forum), since most SOL editors are readers, rather than professional editors. However, the best option is to request editors from your current readers. That way, they'll already know your work, how you approach things and whether they'll enjoy editing your stories, as well as already knowing your earlier works.

Another approach, is whenever someone sends you corrections, encourage more, and if they consistently provide workable solutions (rather than simply shifting commas around), then ask if they'd edit for you.

Most will, because it allows them to improve the stories they read, and feel like they contribute to the stories (they do).

Since I don't have the time to dedicate to it, I tend to focus on 'review editing', where I'll review others work for issues they need to resolve. However, I'm fairly free with my red pen. :
