I'm working on a WIP novel titled "Eubudia: The Pathways of Predators," a brutal dark erotica thriller revolving around a human slavery empire that explores the spectrum of nonconsensual and consensual dom/sub relationships, with arcs delving into moral redemption, societal analysis of power imbalances, kink ethics, and the blurred lines between fantasy and horror.
Main threads include people volunteering for auction and abduction, descending into graphic brain washing and training; the cold Administrator's control fracturing via a photographer's gentle gaze amid his caged slaves; botched kidnappings leading to mistaken victims taped and taken in basements; internal sadistic betrayals; a Maine detective piecing together vans, fibers, and leaks to dismantle it.
On a meta level, the story lures readers with dark noncon elements (through main plot lines and inserted vignettes of brutal scenarios to provoke critical reflection on their own kinks, guiding them toward envisioning healthy, stable systems of true relationships—while acknowledging the persistent darkness in society.
Outcomes vary in an ensemble style: there's a romance/redemption line (e.g., the Administrator's vulnerability leading to partial humanity), a pure romance line (e.g., a trainer and her sub navigating consent amid corruption), and tragic lines (e.g., innocents broken beyond repair, betrayers sold into their own hells).
Literary form: Third-person limited POV, switching fluidly between characters for multi-threaded tension.
Character breadth: Ensemble - detached Administrator, voluntary-turned-broken slave Suzan, artistic equal Camille, vicious trainer Maria, rising dominatrix Lily and her sub Mia, target Staci with dark fantasies, abducted innocents like Evelyn, pursuing Detective Lydia, and more.
Length: ~150k words drafted (Chapters 1-8 complete, detailed outline for 20 chapters). Currently heading towards a continuous, overlong draft without clear book breaks—structuring into multiple volumes (with proper act divisions and pacing) is a key area I'd love developmental editing help on.
Note: Early chapters were written stream-of-consciousness without deep reflection; they'll need more focused line editing later (I'll handle much of it myself based on feedback and systematic checklists for clarity, consistency, and prose polish).
