Category Search boolean logic

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

I believe when one does a Category Search with more than one story code selected, it turns into an AND search. So if you select both Ma/Fa and Ma/ft, the story has to have both of them (Ma/Fa AND Ma/ft) to satisfy the search criteria.

Is there a way to choose an OR instead of AND so stories with either code (not only both) will be returned?

I would think it could be done, but it would probably be an all or nothing proposition and an or would be unworkable for more than two or three tags or for tags in multiple groupings.

That's what I meant. To be able to check something for that search to change the AND logic to an OR logic for the search (not the complexity of combinations of some AND and others OR).

ETA: I would think the removal ones (-) would always be AND.

The last line at the bottom, right under the sorting order selector, there is a drop down menu, the default is 'All', you can change it to 'Any' (OR) or 'exact match'.

Great. Now that I see it, I think I once knew that.

What's the difference between "all" and "exact match"?

Exact match means the stories matched have exactly the categories you select. Not more and not less.

So selecting Ma/Fa and Ma/ft will not match a story that has any other code other than those two.

It's not a terribly useful mode, but I put it there for completeness.

Maybe "only" would be better.
