Can we have a place where authors who have passed or stopped writing are listed? Thanks!

I second this idea

Authors rarely send email notices of their demises. Unless someone they know is in contact with the family--or they're known to be sick--it's hard to tell who died and who simply disappeared.

That said, I still think that would be a nice feature. Maybe a footnote on their author's page?

Maybe just have one of the site admin's add a notice of their death to their profile. Which I found is linked off their author's stories page. I know at least one writer who's notice was added to the profile. At least his stories both finished and unfinished are still available.
