Some times this works (gives a list of stories that are in theory somewhat similar to the one just read.) Sometimes no stories at all come up. I have noticed this particularly on Ka Hmnd stories, which is strange to me as many of his stories are in series or have similar elements. Is this something authors can have turned off? Or does it have to be done manually and the operators that do it are a little behind?
I just looked at this myself. It works for me (even on Ka Hmnd stories) as long as the story has at least two tags.
However, most of Ka Hmnd's latest stories only have one tag, either MA/ft or MA/FA.

Did some more experimentation. I beat the hell out of category search to find stories tagged as humor and nothing else.
Similarly tagged stories works fine for those.
However, I have found the root of the problem.
I beat the hell out of category search a second time to find stories with only one or more of the age/gender tags.
Similarly tagged stories will turn up an empty set unless there is at least one tag that isn't an age/gender tag. It looks like the similarly tagged stories function ignores the age/gender tags.
